Pastor Kene Victor Oraegbunam

MAN, ie- the entire humanity can be an Acronym. M-Morning, A- Afternoon, and N-Night. In the Morning,(age 0-25) sun is rising, life can be explored, opportunities, prospects, hopes are high; it is the beginning of a Destiny. Then comes the Afternoon, (age26-50),this is the period we must become most useful to God, to humanity and to ourselves. This is the time we must define the reason for our existence. Then comes age 51-??? which is regarded as our evening, it is the space between afternoon and night. The evening is either spent in regret or satisfaction. Then comes the N- Night when no man can work(John 9:4). Daddy, our beloved father of Faith, we join the Angels and the hosts of heaven to celebrate your life of accomplishments without regrets.

Rest on! We will join you when it is all over.

Pastor Kene Victor Oraegbunam and Redemption ministries, Eleme2, Ebubu

SAM DAYE

Our beloved father, pastor, teacher, an apostle and our General in God. It was a big shock to me when the news came of your demise, it brought a great confusion, a great pain to my heart.
Daddy, we preparing for Thanksgiving not death, death why did you do this to me. I was totally in pain.
We know you fought a great fight, conquer and won, yes we needed you, but God knows the best.
Father, we asked the question how will the church be without you?, how will conference be without you? How will the topic be in wind and fire? Alot of questions came to be. I can’t believe I will not hear the voice of the senior pastor again, I can’t believe I will not see the smile again, Lord is it possible that we will not hear “Oga get up”, O yes, your hand”, Usher, Usher, look at this Usher, madam get up, you are playing with your future, get up and pray, and so on
Sir, your teachings are so wonderful, you have taught us God’s word that sometimes we wonder how the topics are coming from. You are a pacesetter in our generation.
I will miss you very much, I doubt if we can have someone like you, you were humble, friendly, you care, a philanthropist, you loved everyone without discrimination, and open minded man, I love you till tomorrow. A man of with large heart without looking at tribe. You were accessible at anything as long as you are available.
When it comes to dressing, you were so good in it because you showed us that Christianity is not dirtiness, in Christ there is prosperity.
Sir, I know on that resurrection morning, we will meet. It is hard to say goodbye but we know your legacies will live till eternity.

Wounds actually heal with time as we all know, but the wound that comes with the  loss of a dear one doesn’t actually heal but stays with us through every step and we only learn to nurture it each time it resurfaces as this is where we tend to show the capacity of our strength. Daddy your loss only added pain to the pains I live with ever since my mom passed. The day I heard you had joined the cloud of witnesses I didn’t know how to accept this. Why? Because I was afraid of the pain I will have to deal with. I sulked almost all night and all ì heard in my head was your voice through the song

“Oh Beulah land, sweet Beulah land” and I sang it and cried myself to sleep. Up until this point I still can’t find the right words that explains how I feel and that’s why I still feel some form of resentment. This is hard for me but I have come to the reality that this is really it. Thank You daddy. Thank you for EVERYTHING. Thank you for the foundation, morals, words and principles that has brought me to where I am now. Thank you for standing by me when my mum was there and when she left. For All the support you gave me that I wanted to show you in return wasn’t supposed to be this way but I can’t question. In the early years of my moms loss you never ever made me feel her absence so much as you were there. I guess this is it and the only way I can show you appreciation now is to always live for Jesus as always. I will do my best to continue to represent you through the Christian race.

This is where I have to accept and say
“REST IN POWER”
From: Hananel Alagoa,(The Canadian)As you always called me.

Rev. Stephen Akinola was a great man. My parents always spoke of him as a kind empathetic leader. I knew him as a child and I can remember always being at ease around him, unlike many adults who did not really want to be bothered by kids. He would let me run free both in his house, in his office and according to stories I was told; mid way through service I would somehow appear in front of the alter after sneaking out of children’s church without any usher noticing.
When asked what I wanted, I will say, I want my daddy; who apparently will be seated at the altar.

His presence was also felt in later years when I was in University and reconnected with Yoyo. She was so tender hearted and was always genuinely interested in taking care of me as a big sister even though we hadn’t seen each other in years prior to that. Her love and care towards me made it obvious to me that she had definitely learnt that from her wonderful dad.

Rev. Stephen Akinola indeed has gone to his reward but his good works will always be etched in my heart.

Goodnight Sir.

Sister Joyce Campbell (Glory Assembly)

One of the days in the month of December, 1992 I visited Redemption Ministries with some of my brethren who brought me for a visit to Redemption Ministries at Afam street. After listening to your sermon, I refused to go back to the church where we were all worshiping (New Creation Bible Church). By the grace of God you taught and lived a life of holiness and righteousness.
In the year 2000 my husband had a health challenge which almost took his life. I wrote to you and hand carried the letter to Omega beach, incidentally you were not around but I was reassured that you will be back soon and as soon as you returned one of your staff handed over my letter to you. After reading it, you went into your office and prayed for my husband and God heard and answered your prayer which led to the recovery of my husband.
Your thorough teaching has been a great blessing to me and to my entire family.
You were a blessing to your generation, you were a blessing to all the generations that listened to your messages. You could hardly hear anything like restitution in a lot of churches today but among your numerous teachings, you taught restitution. You dished out the word of God as though you were one of the prophets of old, you never looked at people’s faces when you preached.
Whatever that needed to be preached to your members was what you preached to politicians anytime they visited. You were simply interested in the souls of men and souls were won on a daily basis.
From the viewpoint of men, I believe that God was proud of you though no one is perfect, we trust God that you have gone to the Lord.
You came, you saw and you conquered so rest on our beloved Pastor we love you but God loves you best.
Adieu God’s beloved.

From,

Sister Joyce Campbell
(Glory Assembly)

Ikemefuna (Iykeman)

A WARM AND HEARTFELT GOODBYE TO A GOOD MAN:

Uncle Akinola as I called him was a delightful man to be with. He was one of the most unassuming people I have ever met, always amiable and welcoming to everyone who entered his house or ran into him anywhere.

I got to know Uncle Akinola from my university days as I usually would go on holiday to my Uncle’s house in Port Harcourt. He was my next-door neighbour and what a great neighbour he was. He opened his home to me. Uncle Akinola, the always unassuming would make me feel at home. His children had this same nature and as a result they became my friends, and I took them as family. Once I got into Port Harcourt the next thing was to head to his place to say hello.

I got to realise how much of a heart of gold Uncle Akinola had. In Uncles house there was no difference between his children and every other person who was living with him. He really knew how to make one feel accepted and comfortable. That trait amongst others that I learnt from him, I can comfortably say has stayed with me till today.

I remember how you would objectively mediate between families and friends whenever they ran into trouble or had misunderstandings. You were always fair and honest in your assessment of situations. You are truly God sent to your generation.

Thank you for all the life lessons I received just watching you live your own life. You were a good man.

Adieu Uncle. May your soul rest in perfect peace with God.

Your friend,

Ikemefuna (Iykeman).

TRIBUTE TO OUR BELOVED DADDY, REV STEPHEN OLUWOLE AKINOLA

Our overseer, teacher, friend and father, we thank God for placing you over us for the period of time He did. Your fatherly care had no boundary. You gave us a special place in your heart.you always supported our programs, you always rose to challenge anything that would have made us sad or uncomfortable. We love how you love God and how you taught us to do same. We will never forget your teachings, stories and even songs. Tiwa tope, tiwa tope… one of your favorite songs .

It is really difficult to say goodbye and we’re very sad that God had to take you from us. Yet, we are consoled by the life you lived here on earth and how glorious your departure was. We know that you are in a much better place, dressed in white and singing tiwa tope endlessly and more beautifully to God.

We the children and teachers of Redemption Ministries Worldwide, wants you to know that we love you very much daddy. Till we meet on the resurrection morning, keep resting in the Lord, Daddy.
