Pastor & Mrs Appolos O and Family

TRIBUTE FROM THE FAMILY OF PASTOR AND MRS APPOLOS O. TO OUR BELOVED FATHER AND MENTOR, REV. STEPHEN O. AKINOLA.

What initially sounded as rumour has finally become a sad reality. We cannot ask your Maker why now for we have no clue to the content of His own sovereign mind. We therefore chose to bow to His wishes at all times.

You upheld and taught us strict Christian standard in righteousness, holiness, faithfulness, purity, love, forgiveness, etc. You cared for us, prayed for us and upheld us in love. During our marriage you counselled and prayed passionately for us. Indeed, we cannot tell why good people don’t last long.
You were a man of faith. Some of your messages titled: “Jehovah Unlimited”, “The Forbidden Strength”, “It is Well”, “Conspiracy of the Nations”, “O God, our Help” etc. etc cannot easily be forgotten. The echo of your voice, shall always be heard in our hearts.
We know you are resting in the bosom of the Lord. The spiritual legacy you left behind cannot be forgotten.
Adieu!
Pastor & Mrs Appolos O and Family.

PNEUMA LEGENDS

TRIBUTE TO PASTOR STEPHEN OLUWOLE AKINOLA FROM THE PNEUMA LEGENDS

Psalms 116:15
Precious in the sight of the LORD
is the death of his saints.

Reverend Stephen Akinola: a great minister of God and of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ; dogged in faith, distinct in Christian character, excellence, diligence and resilience in the face of adversities and adversaries.

Highly esteemed Rev Stephen Akinola – that disciple whom The Lord Jesus loves, left in us that rare legacy of his contagious virtues ingrafted permanently installed in us.

His craving for optimum excellence in music in pursuit of the ultimate note spurred him to birth the “Pneuma Voices” by the Holy Spirit. A team under his personal oversight. Would be true to say that Pastor by the Holy Spirit was the inspiration for all the glorious ministrations with lyrics culled from his  sermons. A leadership powered by so much love of God with intense spirituality.

Perhaps a moment to also celebrate and honour the memories of our pre-deceased  members – Bro Joe (Umoh) Dickson, Sis Elsie Adowei, Sis Patience …

Pastor Stephen Akinola taught us the spirituality of music and potency of gospel music for soul winning and soul development; for personal edification & inspiration. Thank you Pastor Sir for the uncommon privilege of granting the Pneuma Voices, as we then were now metamorphosed to “Pneuma Legends” the much coveted rare privilege of ministering just before your glorious ministrations of the Word and the Spirit. Thank you  Pastor Sir!!

How can it be consigned to lost memories your meticulous insistence on musical excellence  powered by deep consecrated spirituality and Christian piety. To your memory Sir, we credit the gravity of our  ministrations to your sermons in lyrics which squeezed the congregants into  deeper Christian realignments, in tears.

We salute and remain  grateful Sir, for the opportunities of training, fatherhood and mentorship for higher service in God’s kingdom hence where we are today. You taught and coached us to love the Lord Jesus Christ

Adieu Sir, see you at the dawn of resurrection

Dr Otonye Bille Ayodele

I first met Pastor Akinola in 1977 when he was a Youth Corper (NYSC) in Port-Harcourt. Just like so many others, his godly aura, kindness, passion for God and souls and his talent as an Artist pulled me into his world. I eventually became a professional artist because of his mentorship, tutelage and very challenging influence. I remember very many Drawing and Painting studio classes that ended as fellowship sessions of his powerful preaching and prayer ministration. Many of us under that anointing in those days, have remained in the church today and as leaders and ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ. His charisma was simply infectious! The greatest impact on peoples lives however was not only from his ministry but from the generous love he so freely lavished on everyone. Pastor Akinola knew virtually everyone he met personally by name and remembered them even including their friends and members of their families. His life and home was always filled with so many people that basked in his overwhelming love and generosity. Even when it was not convenient for him, Pastor Akinola will still love and fight for his people. He always looked out for his brothers, sisters and friends wherever and whatever conditions they were and will always have your back! He was a very dependable father, pastor, confidant, counselor, brother, friend, supporter and firm teacher. We will miss him very dearly. May the Lord continue to comfort us with the hope to meet again someday in glory. Adieu Pastor Stephen Akinola.

Effiong Peters & Family

Daddy, praise God you have gone to your reward.

You were so fair, you were so true, you were so nice and  you were so hospitable even to a fault to us all.

You were a real man of God, but you know, I saw in you and in your dealings with everyone that came your way, a perfect blend of two; a man of God and a man of the people.
Sir, it is incontrovertibly acknowledged also that you were a pastor of the pastors, a teacher of the word and a pacesetter: Your programs do testify.
The WIND&FIRE CONFERENCE of 1996, the last in Stella Maris, Port Harcourt, was historic and the experience of the outpouring of the Fire through the power of the Holy Ghost unforgettable. My life witnessed a turnaround through your Ministry.
Reverend Stephen Akinola laboured in earnest to bring the power down. Nothing Faking!
Sir, your Godly counsel and your prayer life we will observe.
Good night sir.
Effiong Peters & Family.

Sis Lekue Nwibira

The news of your ascension to glory came with a shock but like the apostles we are rest assured that we will meet on the resurrection morning because you fought a good fight you kept the faith.

You were my mentor, father, teacher and counselor . The first day I sat under your teaching in October 1995 at Afarm street D/Line I fell in love with your message and teaching changed my life. Through you I gave my life to Christ and salvation came to my family  as my mother gave her life to Christ and renounced Idol worshipping during the Ogoni Crusade November 2004.
My Pastor you were a father to all and a friend to both small and big an Addict lover of God and epitome of God’s Image and character, a man filled with the word of God,  a man with a meek heart which reflect in your care for the poor, needy, widows, orphans, old and young.
Sleep on the Disciple whom Jesus loves.

 MODUPE BENJAMIN

Daddy,
As I pause and reflect back over the years gone by, I find myself pondering hard…….
Were my expressions of gratitude ever enough for the unconditional sacrifices you made; your countless support and assistance to my family.
My childhood experience as much as I can remember, was one of the best; I went to one of the best schools in Port Harcourt, I enjoyed the privilege of dinning with your family, attended same events with your children, attended trainings and be in places my parents couldn’t afford, became a graduate and I am where I am today all because you created room for me in your large loving heart.
You were always there for my parents like a rock; a calm go to place of safety.
My father, Timothy Solomon was one of your employees among others whom you took as family.
Rev. Stephen Akinola (Daddy), was indeed ” A symbol of the fruits of the Spirit”, a man of great Faith and filled with Thanksgiving .
Thank you for portraying the fruits of the Spirit with your exemplary lifestyle.
I am also thankful to God for blessing us with you and I take solace in knowing you are in a better place, where there is no pain.
You live in our hearts always.
Daddy sun re o, till we meet again.
Your legacy lives on.
 MODUPE BENJAMIN Nee SOLOMON

Adebola Adeola

Death is inevitable, it is a journey that everyone must take. Often times i wish death isn’t part of life, but unfortunately, it is not.
My uncle’s love for me was comparable to that of a mother and I fondly called him Daddy.
I can remember vividly his joyful countenance, cheerfulness and generosity towards me and all the extended family members. Keeping the ties of kinship was a major act of goodness in him
Adieu my dear Uncle and thanks for showing us that despite the pains from the evil illness, you stood your heels to faith, prayers and perseverance as a true warrior of Jesus Christ. Now you are in a better place where there’s no sickness nor pain.
I will miss you a lot darling uncle.
