Dear Senior pastor,
My hearts bleeds as I bid goodnight to you,
I was born,raised and grew under your spiritual covering,
You were the first pastor i knew from birth, and your messages i heard from childhood never changed till your sad but glorious home going
You were not economical with the gospel and truth,
The echoes from your words and voice transformed so many lives through the help of the holy spirit,
Your messages and lifestyle shows you’ were a genuine preacher sent by God
So many things to say about you,but space and choice of words would fail me to describe all you represented
Daddy Akinola,you were a very humble preacher and you never cared about titles and public display, no wonder, you’re referred as that disciple whom Jesus loves
oh yes
that’s whom you’re!

Meet you in the resurrection morning

I have never met a man with a bigger and warmer heart than my uncle; Rev. Stephen Akinola. Selfless even unto his own peril and never holding back the love and blessings bestowed upon him by our Lord Jesus Christ. My uncle taught me early in life about the 3Ts that I would have to submit to God for a successful life; my time, my treasure and my talent. For this alone, I am eternally grateful to God for you. I will miss you a lot sir, and my heart aches whenever I recollect moments under your care and love. Thank you for your legacy of godliness, faith, love and kindness. You have run your race and indeed run it well. There is a time for everything under the sun and I guess this is the time for goodbyes, but only till we meet again at the feet of our Lord. You are always in my heart my dear uncle. Love you always…Jare

As a grandchild of Samuel Akinola, I heard a lot about my grandfather good work, my uncle life was a reflect of the good life i heard of about my grandfather. I love him dearly, he was a family man, and good preacher. I can say enough. Sleep well Oluwole Akinola

Even as a child from children department,I’ve alway wish and wanted to talk with you one on one,but it didn’t happen till your transit.You were such a loving father to us all even from afar,you gave your everything for the gospel,I learnt forgiveness,restitution,giving to mention a few from your in-depth teachings,thank you for impacting so much in us, your legacy lives on.You will be greatly missed on this side of eternity.I know by God’s grace,I will meet you in heaven to part no more..Goodnight Daddy..Goodnight God’s general.. Daddy, We cannot find words adequate enough to express how we feel about your departure, it is still very unbelievable. How you Fathered us even in the midst of your enormous assignment to the Church of Christ worldwide… You ran your race so well, thank you for everything you did to raise us… Absolutely no one compares to you.

Dear Rev. Akinola, the news of your home call came to me as a rude shock! I never knew you would leave us so soon. But we are consoled in the fact that you came, you impacted lives, you fought the good fight, you kept the faith, you ran the race, you won the race successfully and you finished strong!
Your impact will remain trans-generational and the sons and daughter you raised in ministry will continue to impact their world with the flame of fire you deposited in them by a very strong force of impartation through rigorous mentoring. Enjoy a well deserved rest from your labours here on earth sir, and enjoy the bliss of heaven with the saints triumphant until the resurrection morning when we shall meet to part no more att he feet of Jesus our Saviour and Lord.

You taught me to always take at least four days to think over any issue before taking any decision.

You are an epitome of peace, love and wisdom. You are a true man of God.

I, Reginald Ayebainemi Osene without equivocation testify as a witness to the fact that the disciple  Rev Stephen Oluwole Akinola whom the Lord Jesus Christ loves was a true, trusted and worthy Ambassador of the Kingdom of God was great in reconciling men with one another and with God. 2 Cor 5: 20.

He was a great Builder of men’s faith and trust in God. He was a true Carer of the helpless and uncared for.

He was a Dogged disciple and lover of God up to the time he took his last breath which I was privileged to witness.

He was a tested and proven Encourager of the lost and downcast. He was a committed, consistent and dedicated Follower of Jesus Christ till slept off into eternity. He was a true Lover of God and men  irrespective of their age, gender, tribe, religion or nationality who inspired confidence and hope in the immutable word  and divine ability of God.

He truly and really impacted my life and family positively without measure.

My dear brother, friend, counselor and pastor, have a good night’s sleep in the Lord until we all reunite on the resurrection morning.           

Your Legacy lives on…

After so much struggle, we finally were able to gather ourselves in place to write a tribute in the memory of the glorious life and times of our amiable father in the Lord, Rev Stephen Oluwale Akinola.
